When was the last time you took a leap of faith?

My pregnancy came unexpectedly when I was 22 years old. During that time, I was employed by a good company doing something I love, which is event management. I gave birth to my daughter at the age of 23, exactly 2 years ago as of this writing.

Since my husband and I were not truly prepared for the baby, I faced a crossroads. I needed to choose whether:

  • a) Keep my job and hire a babysitter, or
  • b) File a resignation and be a full-time mom.

To help me decide, I made an illustration of the Pros and Cons in my journal.

Option A: I get to keep the job I love, enjoy my income and company benefits. But we’ll need to hire a nanny, buy formula milk, and trust someone else with our baby.

Option B: I become a hands-on mom and exclusively breastfeed—a money saver! But I lose my stable income and benefits. I might need to work from home to help financially.

It was really a tough decision to make. I prayed hard—and took a leap of faith. I chose to quit my job and told myself, “Bahala na.”

I wasn’t sure what would happen next, but I trusted the Lord. And then… things started falling into place.

Being a full-time mom became my favorite job. My husband supported me fully. While I searched for online work, he worked extra on our transport business.

Then a blessing came: My auntie hired me as a virtual assistant! I even coordinated her wedding—which sparked the idea to become a freelance event coordinator!

My husband joined me in event gigs, and we earned more. Months later, we were able to get another transport unit, doubling our income.

Oh, how overwhelming the blessings were!

When you take the courage to face the unknown, God uses what is already in your hands and prospers you.
